999 Location 0001 01 HDR GA NPD_REMARKW=Douglas Point 1 is located in the Otway Basin, South Australia, about 10km north 999 Location 0081 01 HDR GA NPD_REMARKW=-west of Port MacDonnell. 999 Objective 0001 01 HDR GA NPD_REMARKW=The well was drilled to test sands at or near the unconformity between the Upper 999 Objective 0081 01 HDR GA NPD_REMARKW= Cretaceous and Tertiary formations, at a point where outcrop patterns in the Ga 999 Objective 0161 01 HDR GA NPD_REMARKW=mbier Limestone,supported by limited seismic data, indicated the probable presen 999 Objective 0241 01 HDR GA NPD_REMARKW=ce of a large closed anticline. The targets were the Dilwyn, Pebble Point and Cu 999 Objective 0321 01 HDR GA NPD_REMARKW=rdies Formations. 999 Summary 0001 01 HDR GA NPD_REMARKW=The Pebble Point & Curdies Formations at the unconformity between the Cretaceous 999 Summary 0081 01 HDR GA NPD_REMARKW= and Tertiary proved to be 305m lower than anticipated. It is concluded that the 999 Summary 0161 01 HDR GA NPD_REMARKW= well was not located on a structural 'high' and the original interpretation was 999 Summary 0241 01 HDR GA NPD_REMARKW= wrong. There were no hydrocarbon shows. In the sands of the upper Dilwyn Format 999 Summary 0321 01 HDR GA NPD_REMARKW=ion,porosities average 30%+. The lower Dilwyn Formation porosities average 32% a 999 Summary 0401 01 HDR GA NPD_REMARKW=nd the Pebble Point porosities are between 23-26%. The sands of the Curdies Form 999 Summary 0481 01 HDR GA NPD_REMARKW=ation show 26-28% porosity.
